Numerous species are known, including evergreen and light-demanding types. In our region, the most widespread species are Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis).<\/li>\n<li>Pine trees can reach heights of up to 30 meters and are widely distributed as forest-forming species.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Characteristics<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pine is an evergreen tree, which allows it to purify the air not only during summer but also in winter.<\/li>\n<li>Pine needles have a large cumulative surface area that effectively captures dust and airborne pollutants, making pine a highly efficient species for reducing air pollution.<\/li>\n<li>Pine trees are highly resistant to strong winds and harsh weather conditions, which makes them especially important in mountainous areas for air purification and pollution reduction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Uses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pine wood is widely used for the production of construction materials, timber, furniture, and formwork.<\/li>\n<li>In beekeeping, pine flowers are also utilized as a nectar source for honey production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Suitability for Yerevan and Armenia<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pine is widely distributed in the mountainous regions of Armenia and serves important functions in air purification and in controlling heavy rainfall and wind impacts.<\/li>\n<li>In Yerevan and other cities, pine is highly valuable for urban greening due to its evergreen nature, shade provision, and strong air-cleaning capacity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Traditional Knowledge and Botany Pine trees belong to the Pinaceae family.
